This is the time of the year that we remember and reflect on the greatest sacrifice ever made on behalf of mankind, and the greatest hope ever given. As we celebrate Psalm Sunday in a couple of weeks, and the rejoicing that took place as Jesus rode into Jerusalem, we also enter into Holy week or Passion week remembering all of the events that led up to the death of Jesus on the cross. Jesus died an excruciating, painful death for each of us. He died so that we can receive forgiveness for our sins. I John 3:16 tells us that this is how we know what love is; Jesus laid down His life for us. But it did not stop with His death, He also gave us the greatest hope through His resurrection. Accept the greatest gift of all, salvation. Accept that Jesus died on the cross for you personally, so that one day you can spend eternity with Him. Say yes to Jesus.
I Peter 1:3-4 reads: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for you.
Praise the Lord for His great sacrifice,
Pastor Janet Giles
